Delusion

I remember when I almost died
The pain was so intense
When the sunlight faded into pitch black
I was numb, I didn't want to come back

I found myself walking in a cold dark empty tunnel,
Focused on a flicker of light up ahead
When I reached the light a shadow appeared
Looking down at me it whispered
"Not now" and grasped my hand

This voice, was familiar- yet very, very strange
But I could still remember all of my pain
So I moved again towards that light
The voice grew angry now "It's not your time!"

I felt like begging, but nothing came out
Then in an instant my head began to spin
I was suddenly walking quickly backwards to
where I started from
I tried to resist it with all my strength,
But I wasn't going to win against fate

And as my darkness started to fade back into
to the light
The shadow bent over me, and whispered in my
ear one last time..
It said:
"In time, we will be together, but your time is
not now my dear, not now, not tonight..."

I can see where I am heading
I can feel time is ending
I can be the distance crossing
I can dream of new beginnings
